3 Office Resolutions to Make your Work Life Better this Year

3 Office Resolutions to Make your Work Life Better this Year

Okay Ladies! Now is the time to make those New Year’s resolutions.  So as you start making your list, don’t forget to include these three simple and practical resolutions that are sure to get your career or business off to the right track in 2016.

  1. Declutter your workspace

It’s amazing how much stuff you can accumulate on your desk in a matter of a few weeks, months or even a year!  Start of the New Year, by taking some time to remove excess papers, garbage, and trinkets from your workspace that take up precious space and add to the chaos in your life.  The process can actually be quite liberating and in the end you will have a desk that is more conducive to productivity and getting things done!

  1. Get to work 15 minutes early

One common trend among the most successful people is that they are early risers.  They get up early, hit the gym, shower and are in the office as early as 6am.  I know we are not all morning people, but with the New Year upon us, this is a good time to reboot and start thinking about arriving to the office earlier.  In that extra 15 minutes, you will be giving yourself some extra “me” time, which can make the difference between a super productive, successful day and one where you feel you’ve accomplished nothing.  Take that time to settle in, get your morning coffee and bagel, check a few emails, plan out your day and what you want to get accomplished before you are bombarded with other people or emergency projects demanding your time.  You’ll be amazed how much of an impact that extra time for yourself can improve your work life.

  1. Surround yourself with inspiration

It’s important to surround yourself with inspiring people and work in an inspiring environment if you want to grow and reach your full potential.  Look for someone at the office who you admire and aspire to be like and invite them to lunch or schedule a 30 minute meeting with them to ask them about their career and how they got to where they are.  You don't need to have a formal mentor to benefit from the experience of a seasoned professional.

At Cube Appeal, we also desire to provide motivation to our customers.  We offer inspirational prints and mirrors that you can hang in your cubicle to transform your work space into place where your creative juices can flow and help keep you moving toward achieving your goals.
